| 4.0 Before wall construction begins 6.0 Wall Construction | - Preliminary check requirements: Prior to construction check that the structure that the frames are to be installed on matches drawings and are within required tolerances. Slabs should be dimensionally accurate, level, and straight.
- Review the layout drawings to understand which panels go where and review overall dimensions before work commences
- Explanation of print strings:-
- Print strings on the flange indicate the 'front' face of the panel. This 'front' of the panel is shown by the arrow on the layout drawings
- Print string marks indicate the wall panel number as well as the length of each of the parts. The length of top and bottom plates are marked on them which indicates the overall length of the panels, while stud lengths indicate the height of the wall panels plus 4mm
- All external wall panels have "EXT" marked on them, and the print string faces to the outside of the building. If one is not pre-attached to the frames, a damp proof course shall be installed under all walls marked "EXT"
- Wall panel orientation can be determined by ensuring that bottom plates marked with "BP" are at the bottom and plates with "TP" are at the top. Marks on the flanges of studs should face towards arrows on the layout drawings. The panel direction can also be obvious as there are a pair of service holes at the bottom of a wall and one at the top.
- Layout walls: Move wall panels to approximate location on site
- Start with panels in the corner and put 2 screws at each of the top and bottom to connect panels together
- Temporary brace any panels that are not near wall junctions
